Very Sad News

I'm posting this publicly so that those who see my journal can pass this information on to others on his flist.

I have very sad news. Yesterday afternoon as blackbyrd2 was arriving home from his deployment to Idaho, he was shot and killed.

He's gone. For the next few days I have many things to do and will be doing them with a profound sadness that will be with me for the rest of my life.

BB tended to describe himself as a crotchety old man, but he was a gentle man, very kind, considerate, and tolerant. He was intelligent, thoughtful and very well spoken. He loved me as much as I love him and will for the rest of my life. He was my best friend.

I'll miss him very much and will always remember our last kiss over 2 months ago.

There's more, that all you voracious Googlers already know. It was Son_Icran. I don't know yet what kind of mental break he experienced and won't be able to see him till after Monday. But it was my son, who stepped outside and fired several shots before BB could get out of the airport shuttle. Yes, I'm devastated. Everything I love in my world is gone. Repost at will.
